Can I get a temporary credit card for my daughter to use while travelling in Europe for 16 Days? I want a limit on it so that she cannot use more than I give her for her vacation. Thanks any advice welcome soon as she is going in a couple of weeks. My daughter is 17 and I have found it hard to get her a debit card because it states that she has to be 18.Thanks everyone but had to make a decision before all answers were in. Got travellers checks and she can change them at the airport or hotel. May not get the best rate of exchange but could not find any debit or credit cards to suit online and I live in a small town where it takes ten days to get a card!!!

get her a couple of visa or amercian express gift cards. they are already loaded with whatever amount you want and you use them like a credit card. i think they come in $25, $50, $100, and $500 amounts

if you have a cc you dont normally use. add her as authorized user and have cc company change limit to whatever you need. when done you can have it changed back.

A gift card or debit card would be the way to go. I think all the major credit card companies do them and they can be used anywhere their cards are accepted. You just have to have the money upfront to load onto the card.

Visa has a gift card that can be used like a credit card. Most large banks have them. I believe they are loaded with what ever amount you want on it. You can have her added to a credit card that you don't use with a specified spending limit and send her on with that.

Visa gift card or adding her on to your account would be the best. Don't go with travelers checks. They can be difficult to cash and some places will charge you a premium for doing so. You will get a much better exchange with a credit card.

i found my self in this same place.i went to my bank, and they told me they had a special plan foraccount holders , so i was able to give my son a credit card that he could use, he could only spend what i put in there, and i could monitor what he was buying and where he was buying it.

yea, call the credit card company and ask for a card with a certain amount of money on it, they should send it in the mail, and then when she gets back call them agian and cancell the credit card. And then you need to chop the credit card into little bitty peices.
