I don't know how big waves you like to board, but I'll give you the rundown. On O'ahu, there is always North Shore. I'll tell you, you're going to be fighting the crowds though. Everyone is trying to get in a photo mag and show their shit, so I'd avoid the popular spots (like Backdoors, Pipeline, etc). There are plenty of places up north to surf that are less crowded. Pull on the side of the road just about anywhere during a big swell and you'll find spots. On the east side there is Makapu'u and Sandy Beach. Makapu'u gets some NNE swells and is monsterous at times. I was in the water for a 12 foot local scale set and I about shit myself, mainly because it's a closeout on the beach. However, most of the time it is not like this but of a decent rideable size. Sandys is the same way, although somewhat smaller. I don't like it here because it's always crowded, but don't let that hold you back.On the west side, there's Tracks and Makaha, but both are predominantly surf spots. Basically, if there are waves, you can find a spot. Even in town on goood days you can go to Bowls or Kewalos. As for the other islands, on Maui there is Suicides, Makena, and Ho'okipa (among hundreds of others). On the Big Island, most people go to Hapuna, Kua Bay, Makalawena, or one of the tourists spots in Kona.Happy hunting!
