why is the beach water clear in Hawaii?

Lack of pollution is what makes the water so much more clear. But Hawaii is far from the clearest water around, though. Places like Alaska and Russia have the best, clearest water. Why? Believe it or not, it is the temperature and the lack of movement.

Lack of nutrients like dissolved nitrates prevent algae and plankton that feed on the algae from growing. Thus, clear water.Lack of sediments carried from large land masses, and lack of dust falling from air that has been moving over large land masses also contribute to the clarity of that water.
