I'm planning a 2 week trip for later this year. My friend is going with me and he wants to go to New York City and maybe Boston or Philadelphia. I want to go to Europe (Paris, London and/or Italy). What things are there to do and see in NYC that would convince me to go there instead of Europe?

New York is only 300 years old...Europe is who knows how old..way more history and cool things...oh, you can get killer tea in England, and killer wine and unpasturized cheeze in France...Europe all the way..

I say go to the east coast and find out how much you love living on the west coast... especially at the end of the year.

If you're on the west coast the only thing that would really convince me is the time difference. LA is nine hours behind France and Italy (8 hours behind England) and that's a lot of jet lag to get over for a two-week trip.

If you can afford it, go Europe (especially Italy) - I would pick Europe over the East Coast any day.

I would choose Europe any day over the east coast of the U.S. Europe has so much history and culture plus it has amazing ruins and castles to check out. I hope you get to go to Europe!

Always Europe. There's nothing like it.

There is everything and anything you want to do in NYC, plus you do not have to worry about conversion of money, language barriers and also a really long overseas flight. Stay in the good old U S of A and support your country's economy.
