We were in this hotel in europe. I was raining and we were soaked, I stripped to take a shower and found the maid had not been there yet, no dry towels. I could hear the maid outside our room, so i grabbed a wet one and wrapped it around my waist and took all the used towels and went out in the hall to ask for new ones. I handed her them and asked in broken italian for new ones. She took them, threw them in a bag and then pointed at the towel around my waist and then the bag. She kept doing that saying something in italian. Then I asked in bad italian if she wanted me to take off my towel. She kept insisting yes, yes. Since she seemed so insistant and we were in Europe I took it off and stood there naked while the maid handed me fresh towels. Back in the room I told my wife. she just said, of course! It is Europe and they dont care about nudity and you had a dirty towel on. What do you think? I am not sensitve about this stuff, just wonder if you think it is nomal?second part of the question. how would you react if you turned the corner in that hotel hallway and saw this scene?

Nudity is only an issue in America and a few other countries. To most europeans it is considered natural and not abnormal. The maid probably didn't think 2 seconds about it after the incident.I used to work at a hotel in California which would get a lot of european tourists. The europeans would disrobe next to the swimming pool and put on their swimsuits in front of everyone. We had to start telling the tour guides to tell the tourists to change in their rooms and not next to the pool.At this point, if I saw something like that in Europe, I wouldn't think much about it either.
