wow, i live in ocean pointe :)its a newer neighborhood so it is safe couple robberies, just like any other neighborhoodget ready to deal with traffic too, for nowundergoing gentrification, check on google maps, tons of new houses next to old neighborhoods(which long ago had a bad reputation). in just 10 years the local high school had the worst graduation rate, to one of the best in the state, with the CO 2008 getting 6 million in scholarships totalwith the tremendous growth/turn-around, the main road, ft weaver, stayed the same, leading to one of the worst traffic bottlenecks on the island. The only reason i dont like living here in ocean pointe. Construction on the widening of it is scheduled to be completed this august, along with another road that runs nearly parallel to it that connects to the freeway. a new giant shopping center will be opening soon too thats near ocean pointe.

A lot of the locals really dislike that area. It's ALL for the business over there. We looked for houses in that area when we first moved here and were not impressed at all. It's located in one the most unattractive areas on the entire island. O'ahu is divided when in comes to landscapes. The eastern side with Honolulu and Hawaii Kai is very plush and has the most tropical weather. The western side including Ocean Point, Makakilo, and Kapolei is very dry and is the most hottest area.In addition you'll be disappointed even on the ride overr there. The traffic is HORRIBLE. You could be caught sitting in your car for alteast an hour just trying to get in and out.If you are looking for the real, true essence and ambiance of Hawaii, I strongly urge you to stay clear of that area period. Consider the Windward area with Kane'ohe and Kailua or Hawaii Kai. Beautiful combination of mountains and ocean side by side =)

growing . . . If the community does not get a grip and start pulling in the leash, they are going to built on top of themselves out there. If not for the Kailua community'S thinking, the windward side would be even more built up. They will probably have to build a road under the ocean to get to Honolulu.

Fatima: I responded with this very answer to a question by grey yesterday. It seems like a strange coincidence to me that you would choose the same words to answer this question. But considering that even my typo of "wil" instead of "will" is in your response, perhaps it is not just a coincidence. This was my answer yesterday: All of the major islands have community colleges. Oahu wil have the most job opportunities. But it is extremely difficult to support yourself here while going to school. You will not make it on a part time, minimum wage job. Our economy is not doing well & good jobs are hard to come by.And even more coincidentally, the same darned thing happened last week with an answer to a question by ABC.
