My friend who lives there says that the Midland Hotel is very nice, very posh, and has been there for "donkeys years".

The best hotels in the city centre are the Midland and the Rossetti. The former is very sumptuous and traditional; the latter is contemporary and stylish. Both are expensive but book in advance you might get a good deal.If you want somewhere cheap and friendly the Trafford Lodge is ideal and is next to the metro so you can get around easily. Do not stay at any of the Britannia Hotels or the Jarvis- they are complete dumps- 70s flat roof monstrosities.If you don't mind staying in the suburbs the County in Bramhall is cheap but comfortable and is also next to the station- 15 mins into Manchester centre.
